Last July 1, First Philec held a Mass Blood Donation for the benefit of the Philippine Red Cross – Batangas Chapter. The blood drive was held at the B3 Plant in Sto. Tomas, where a total of 15 employees took part in.
There were past Mass Blood Donations done earlier in the year, and a total of 38 employees took time out to donate blood this year thus far. Four blood drive were conducted in the B3 plant this year; two last March, one in June and the recently concluded blood drive in July.
The Philippine Red Cross – Batangas Chapter approached First Philec last year and have been organizing blood drive within the area due to emergency demands.
The Philippine Red Cross is a non-government organization committed to providing quality life-saving services of indigent Filipinos who are caught in vulnerable situations. The organization has been involved in disaster-related activities for over 67 years, and continues to offer a wide array of humanitarian aid, ranging from preventive medicine to therapeutic counseling, to youth leadership.
