The Asia IOT Business Platform held its 30th edition of their summit last July 24, 2019 at the Marriot Hotel Manila. This year’s theme was “Driving Digitalisation Ecosystems in ASEAN.” The summit brings together leaders in Internet of Things (IoT) and businesses engaged in its adoption. In the summit, discussions are focused on the deployment of IoT in different businesses in the region and how IoT solution providers can bridge the gap in their efforts toward digitalization.
In this year’s installment, our very own FPI president, Mr. Ariel Ong, was a speaker in the Smart Factory and Connected Supply Chain panel. The session’s talk centered on how Philippines is catching up to Industry 4.0 versus other ASEAN countries. Together with other speakers such as Mr. Rhett Ramos, Asia IT Director of Allegro MicroSystems, and Mr. Sherwin Nones, Head of Strategic Planning and Marketing of Integrated Micro-Electronics, Inc., Mr. Ong shared challenges that local manufacturers face when designing a digital strategy.
